Unlimited
Fishing means you can literally
fish as many hours as you'd like with a professional guide. The fishing
begins at whatever time you'd like to start, and finishes whatever time
you'd like to finish during day light hours. Barraterre Bonefish Lodge
will plan your meals around your fishing schedule. The only requirement
is that you clear your fishing schedule with the lodge manager the day
before.
Not included:
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; gratuities for house and guide staff;
any items of a personal nature.

Cancellation
Policy
A 50% deposit is
necessary to confirm your reservation at Barraterre Bonefish Lodge within
14 days of making a reservation. The balance is due 90 days prior
to your arrival. The deposit is refundable, minus a $300 per person cancellation
fee, if cancellation is received by Barraterre Bonefish Lodge in writing
90 days prior to arrival., if cancellation is made less than 90 days prior
to departure there is no refund of the lodge cost. We highly recommend
trip cancellation insurance. If your final payment is not received 65 days
prior to departure, Barraterre Bonefish Lodge reserves the right to resell
you space.
Currency Exchange
The U.S. dollar
is readily acceptable in the Bahamas and is interchangeable with the Bahamian
dollar. There is no need to exchange money. Barraterre Bonefish
Lodge suggests bringing US cash for tips and incidental items. Barraterre
Bonefish Lodge does not accept credit cards. Acceptable forms of payment
include travelers checks and cash.
Bahamas Entry
Requirements
For Visitors, entry
requirements differ slightly depending upon place of birth, length of stay
and what items accompany the traveler. All persons entering The Bahamas
require passports to enter, return or onward journey ticket, and proof
of funds to support the traveler during the visit.
UNITED STATES
CITIZENS
Original birth certificate
or certified copy with raised seal and Official photo identification
(driver's license
or voter's registration card) if not using a passport.
(a)
Naturalized citizens require original naturalization certificate (copy
not accepted). No photo identification is required.
(b)
Alien residents of the United States, in possession of a US Alien Registration
Card, may enter
The Bahamas without a visa for visits not exceeding 30 days. Presentation
of a national passport would facilitate processing.
Note:
If nationals of the United States use a passport, the passport should be
current or expired for 5 years or less.
CANADIAN CITIZENS
(a)
Canadian citizens may enter The Bahamas without a passport for visits up
to 21 days upon presentation of an original birth certificate. (Copy
not acceptable)
(b)
Landed immigrants, in possession of the Canadian Immigration Record Form
1000 may enter without a visa for visits not exceeding 30 days. These
individuals should also have a national passport.
Note:
If Canadian nationals use a passport, the passport should be current or
expired for 5 years or less.
UNITED KINGDOM
Official photo identification
may be used if not using a passport. If these nationals use a passport,
the passport should be current or expired for 5 years or less.
General
Visitors arriving
in The Bahamas may bring in the following items free of customs duty &
stamp tax: apparel, toilet articles & similar personal effects; one
qt. of alcoholic beverage; on qt. of wine, 1 lb. of tobacco or 200 cigarettes
or 50 cigars; & other articles up to the value of $100. Subject to
change.
Departure Tax
The Bahamas requires
each person leaving to pay a $18 departure tax. Children under the age
of three years are exempt. Subject to Change.
Returning US residents
may take home duty-free items valued up to $600 US- retail, provided they
are properly declared to the customs inspector. All items must accompany
the traveler to be considered duty free. The $600 US- duty-free exemption
can be claimed once every 30 days, provided the resident has been outside
the US for 48 hrs. The $600 US - exemption may be pooled for a family living
in the same household & traveling together, i.e., a family of our can
take home $2,400 US - worth of duty-free goods.
Holidays &
Sundays
There are a number
of Bahamian Holidays, and all stores and services except hotels and restaurants
are usually closed on those Holidays. The same is true on Sundays in Exuma.
If you plan to arrive in the Bahamas on a Sunday or a holiday, please note
that the grocery stores and other stores will not be open.
Climate
The trade winds
that blow almost continually throughout The Islands Of The Bahamas give
the islands a warm, agreeable climate which varies little year-round. The
most refreshing time is from September through May when the temperature
averages 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. The rest of the year is a bit warmer
with temperatures between 80-85 degrees. Rainfall is scarce from November
through April each year; however, showers can occur during the months of
May through October.
Clothing
Casual summer wear
can be worn during the day any time of the year, but be sure to bring a
jacket or sweater for cooler evenings from December to February.
Cellular Services
The Bahamas Telecommunications
Corporation (BaTelCo) has automatic roaming agreements with cellular carriers
in the United States, Canada and Mexico. BaTelCo's roaming partners include
Aliant Cellular, Ameritech Cellular, BCTEL Mobility, Bell Mobility, Bell
Atlantic NYNEX Mobile, BellSouth Mobility, Blue Ridge Cellular, Cantel,
Cellular Holding, Cellular One Bay Area Cellular, Cellular One of Illinois,
Cellular One of Southwest Florida, Comcast Cellular, Crowley Cellular,
Dansbury Cellular, Pioneer/Enid Cellular, MT&T Mobile, NBTel Mobility,
Radiofone, 360° Communications, Telcel, TELUS Mobility U.S. Cellular
and Western Wireless.
If your home carrier
has a roaming agreement with BaTelCo and your cellular number is active
in The Islands Of The Bahamas, you can enjoy cellular service. Simply ensure
that your phone is switched to system B and dial away!
Electricity
Electricity is 120
volts AC. American appliances are fully compatible.
Language
The official language
of The Islands Of The Bahamas is English, more British than American, and
generally intertwined with a special Bahamian dialect.
Time
Eastern Standard
Time is used on all islands. April to October is Eastern Daylight Time,
in conjunction with U.S. summer hours.
