The Exumas are among the friendliest islands in the Bahamas. Warm-hearted people who appreciate visitors to their shores, make The Exumas a wonderful location for the dedicated fisherman as well as families. Just 35 miles southeast of Nassau, The Exumas stretch more than 100 miles from Beacon Cay in the north to Hog and Sandy Cay in the south. Hundreds of little cays (365 to be more exact) make The Exumas a prime cruising ground for yachters, divers and of course, fisherman. Its surrounding waters are legendary for their desolate islands, coves, bays and harbors. Barraterre Bonefish
Lodge is located approximately 41 miles north of Georgetown, Exuma off
the Queen’s Highway on the northern shore of Great Exuma. For years accessible
only by boat, the town of Barraterre enjoyed a reputation for being a sleepy
hamlet, with the installation of the highway the area is now open for development,
but no one expects that to happen anytime soon. Here you’ll see how the
“life of the cays” is lived. Come and enjoy Barraterre Bonefish Lodge for
yourself.
